September 2026 — Merge duplicate characters, and transcripts that spell your party right
- NewWorld Studio import now accepts PNG, JPG, GIF, and WebP images, not just Markdown, PDF, and ZIP. Drop in maps or handout art — several at once — and each becomes its own draft entry with the picture attached.
- NewDescribe with AI reads an uploaded image and drafts a title, summary, and description from what is actually on it, including place names off a map. You review the proposal and choose what to keep before anything is saved.
- ImprovedThe Lore Wall now answers "Not sure where something belongs?" in place — what goes on an NPC card, where conversations live, and how to share a secret without exposing your private notes.
- ImprovedThe Lore Wall leads with the categories you use every session and tucks Events, Handouts, Rules, and House rules under More, so there are fewer places to second-guess.
- ImprovedA new arc now suggests prepping your next session first, instead of assuming you already have a recording to upload.
- NewThe guide has new sections on prepping a session and on where each kind of information belongs.
- NewMerge duplicate characters. If a session transcript created a character under a misheard name, you can now combine it with the real character sheet and pick which name, portrait, description, and sheet to keep.
- ImprovedA merged character's old name is remembered as an alternate spelling, so later sessions match the right character instead of creating another duplicate.
- ImprovedSession analysis now knows your party's names before it starts, so transcripts spell player characters correctly instead of guessing.
- NewAfter signup, new GMs pick one starting path — bring in an existing campaign, start a new one, or explore first — instead of landing on a generic empty dashboard.
- FixedIf you pick the wrong starting path after signup, you can go back and choose another.
- FixedThe Actions menu on a character card was cut off and appeared to do nothing, so characters could not be archived or deleted from the character list.
Why it matters: A player character recorded under the wrong spelling no longer splits into two, and the fix sticks — the name you correct once is the name future sessions use.
Try it: Open Characters, pick Actions on a duplicate, choose Merge with another, and select the real character sheet.
August 2026
August 2026 — Manual recaps publish as written
- FixedDashboard, billing, and admin pages no longer fail with a generic server error after signing in.
- ImprovedIf the database is briefly unreachable, pages now report a temporary problem you can retry instead of a generic error.
- NewA new D&D campaign planner guide shows how to organize your world before session one and keep plans connected to what actually happens in play.
- FixedWhen an episode has both a manual recap and a generated story, you can now choose which one readers see instead of always publishing the generated version.
- NewNew accounts can now confirm what to keep straight from the results screen after their first session — pick the NPCs, locations, and factions worth remembering without opening the review queue first. Anything you skip stays in the queue.
- FixedInactive accounts no longer receive a generic “we miss you” email.
- ImprovedCanceling a plan asks one reason — including Prefer not to say — plus an optional comment. You can always cancel without writing anything extra.
- NewAfter you cancel, Helmer may send a short personal follow-up about your reason — unless you chose Prefer not to say.
- NewAfter you start paying, Helmer may send a short thank-you with a link to join the TableTopArc community.
- ImprovedSettings → Community now walks you through joining Discord, connecting your account, and confirming your Pro or Legend role.
- NewIf you subscribe and then go quiet for a few weeks, Helmer may send a short note asking what TableTopArc is missing — not a “we miss you” nudge.
- ImprovedOnboarding now sends fewer stacked emails: the extra “add a first episode” and “go public” nudges are retired, so an unused arc gets one Friday follow-up after the first-arc note.
- NewIf you used TableTopArc on the free plan and then went quiet, Helmer may send a short note asking what changed — not a “we miss you” nudge.
- FixedUpgrading from Pro to Legend now charges the prorated difference immediately, instead of adding it to your next renewal.
- FixedStarting a Pro or Legend subscription from Free no longer fails with a billing “out of sync” error.
- ImprovedFix stat blocks now uses a consistent at-a-glance layout, and stat tables render correctly on the Lore Wall.
- NewMerge duplicate wiki entries. Tabletop Arc flags entries that look like the same NPC or location, and a side-by-side view lets you pick which title, summary, and image to keep — episodes, key facts, and images from both are combined.
- NewHave entries that predate duplicate detection? Scan for duplicates on the Wiki checks your whole campaign at once.
- NewUnlink a single episode from a wiki entry with one click, instead of Ctrl-clicking a multi-select.
- FixedDuplicate NPCs and locations pulled out of your sessions were detected but never actually shown for review, so the same character could end up with several wiki pages.
- FixedRemoving every linked episode from a wiki entry now saves instead of silently reverting.
- FixedThe Create Arc button could be cut off below the screen when setting an Arc in a World.
- FixedIf a subscription payment failed and a later retry went through, the account could stay marked past due — blocking AI, audio, and image generation even though the invoice was paid.
Why it matters: Your published episode now reflects the recap you chose, so carefully written campaign notes are never silently replaced.
Try it: Open an episode with both recap versions, choose Manual recap in the Publish tab, and publish it.
July 2026
July 2026 — A five-minute first win, and lore you can link straight from the story
- ImprovedEvery Arc now puts “Prep your next session” up front, with a clearer and dismissible explanation of optional World Context.
- ImprovedFree accounts now include 10 image credits every month (up from 5), matching the published Free plan.
- FixedPlan and pricing details now match everywhere — the FAQ, guide, getting started, and terms pages all show the current Free, Pro ($9), and Legend ($19) allowances, with no leftover trial or outdated minute counts.
- NewA guided first-run flow that gets you from signup to your first campaign timeline in about five minutes, with a demo you can auto-chain into your own Arc.
- NewLink lore directly from the Story view — turn a mention of an NPC or location into a Lore Wall entry without leaving the recap.
- NewWorld Studio import now accepts PDF sourcebooks, not just Markdown and ZIP — handy for character sheets exported from tools like D&D Beyond.
- NewLink a player’s character to a known character on the Lore Wall — mark a PC as a premade or an NPC-turned-player-character and see it flagged on their character card.
- NewProduct updates and devlogs are now posted to the announcements channel in our Discord community — join to follow along.
- NewConnect your Discord account in Settings → Community to automatically get Member and subscriber-tier roles in our Discord server.
- NewA weekly "This week in Tabletop Arc" digest and a public activity feed (new public arcs, new episodes) now post to our Discord community — public campaigns only, never anything private.
- FixedScene ordering in the Story tab and a crash when pasting long Markdown notes into the manual recap box.
Why it matters: Fewer clicks between "I just signed up" and "I can see my campaign taking shape" — you should feel the value before you learn every feature.
Try it: Open any episode’s Story tab and click a highlighted entity to link it to the Lore Wall.
June 2026
June 2026 — World Studio, AI credits, and a faster dashboard
- NewWorld Studio (Legend) — build a reusable setting once, import a sourcebook as a ZIP, and start Arcs inside a published World with prep already seeded.
- NewAI credit packs and metered AI Improve for campaign lore — enrich a Lore Wall entry with one click.
- ImprovedDashboard loads faster: billing, storage, and shell data are deduplicated instead of being fetched per-widget.
- FixedWorld publishes now correctly include GM-only canon and surface how many entries are publishable.
Why it matters: GMs running homebrew settings across multiple campaigns can now build the world once and reuse it, instead of re-explaining lore in every new Arc.
Try it: Open Dashboard → World Studio to import a sourcebook or start a new World.
May 2026
May 2026 — A cleaner Review queue and a simpler publish flow
- ImprovedReview queue redesigned with a dedicated Lore Wall placement tab — approve or edit AI- and player-submitted items in one pass.
- NewOne-time AI lore cleanup to sweep out generic or duplicate entities from older campaigns.
- ImprovedPublishing an episode is now a single streamlined flow with a clear checklist of what’s missing.
- ImprovedEmail login switched to short OTP codes instead of magic links — faster on mobile.
Why it matters: The Review queue is where AI-extracted lore becomes canon — making it faster to approve means your Lore Wall stays current without extra busywork.
Try it: After running Analysis on an episode, open the Story tab’s Review queue to see the new placement view.
April 2026
April 2026 — Arc Prep and a session builder on the homepage
- NewArc Prep reads your campaign context and suggests open threads to pick up, NPC spotlights, twists, and encounter seeds for your next session.
- NewA live Session Builder on the homepage — generate an NPC, encounter, or plot hook before you even sign up.
- ImprovedAnything you build before signing up is restored into your campaign after signup instead of being regenerated from scratch.
Why it matters: GMs can prep faster without losing campaign continuity — Arc Prep already knows what happened last session.
Try it: Open one of your Arcs and look for Arc Prep in the episode tabs.
March 2026
March 2026 — Battlemap Studio, a Dungeon Generator, and new plans
- NewBattlemap Studio — a guided, encounter-first battle map generator with a grid overlay and VTT-friendly output.
- NewPro Dungeon Generator with procedural maps, interactive editing, and VTT export.
- NewFree / Pro / Legend plans replace the old tiers, with persistent resource packs for extra minutes and credits.
- ImprovedEpisode cover art is now generated from an LLM visual brief based on your actual session content.
- ImprovedDenser lore extraction and a speaker-identification step between transcription and analysis.
Why it matters: Prep tools now cover the table, not just the story — maps and dungeons for the next session, alongside the continuity engine for the last one.
Try it: Open Dashboard → AI Tools → Battlemap Studio or Dungeon Generator.
